We did it again, and I don’t know why, but this anthology hits different this time.
Love in the Lowcountry, A Vacation Collection features eight authors with ties to South Carolina, and it seems, her beaches.
Each story is a romance, in case the title didn’t hint at that, and they all take place on or near the beach. Apparently when we wrote these stories, we all had a longing for sand between our toes.
If you’ve read the previous Love in the Lowcountry books, (sadly, now out of print,) you will see an evolution among the writers. Maybe that’s why this book hit different for me. We all leveled up together.
The stories feature couples as different as their authors — a variety of ages, backgrounds, expertise. And all drawn to the Carolina coastline. Who can blame them? Not us.
Some of the things you’ll find in this collection include time travel, second chances, and a strong sense of homecoming for many of our couples. Yasmin Angoe, the best selling author of The Nena Knight series, is also a South Carolinian and graced this volume with an introduction that talks about the fruits that come from a community of writers. Spoiler: it’s not only the stories.
I hope you check out the book and find a story that strikes a chord with you. It is available in paperback from most e-retailers, several local booksellers in South Carolina, and on Amazon. If you can, please purchase your copy in person or through BookShop.org to help support the communities we live in and love.
No matter how you choose to purchase your copy, or borrow it from the library, all the proceeds go to the Carolina Romance Writers, a not-for-profit group that supports and uplifts writers in all stages of their writing life.
