My first project being released in 2025 will be a new short story in the Love in the Lowcountry anthology.
Anthologies holds a special place for me. I debuted as an author in one back in 2019. The story was “Champagne Supernova” and it was a pure joy for me to write. Something about those characters sang to me and once I had all the pieces, the story flowed like water from my imagination to the page. It felt like magic.
The story I wrote for this upcoming anthology has a similar feel for me. The only thing the two stories have in common is that they take place in the Charleston area. The characters and circumstances are different, and while “Champagne Supernova” takes place in one night, the events of this new story unfold over several days.
“IOP Connection” is inspired by my best friend from college and the misadventures we experienced together, some of which happened on the eponymous Isle of Palms. While the characters in this story are firmly in their 30s, they still get up to some misadventures, plus they celebrate each other and their friendship.
If “Champagne Supernova” was inspired by the excitement of being published, then “IOP Connection” was born out of pure love and adoration for the families we build for ourselves. I hope you enjoy experiencing this story as much as I did.
